Dorset Council: Pure Town Planning have recently secured planning permission and listed building consent for a change of use from a bar to an office hub with coffee bar and soft play area at the existing property on Weymouth’s Esplanade.

Working with local architects SPASE Design, as part of the works, we secured listed building consent for the demolition of an internal glazed partition, erection of an internal partition wall and external new glazed screen and door to facilitate the change of use.

The development will provide high quality office space for local businesses in sustainable town centre location, whilst preserving special interest of the listed building and character and appearance of the Weymouth Town Centre Conservation Area.

To support this application, we prepared a comprehensive supporting design, access, planning and heritage statement which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, whilst making it clear that the development was in accordance with adopted planning policies that support economic growth within town centres.

Upon considering the application and supporting documents, the Council agreed with our conclusions and moved to grant planning permission for the change of use and listed building consent for the enabling works.
