BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Dan Wilden is pleased to have recently secured planning permission for the change of use of an existing Use Class C4 House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) (for up to 6 persons) to a larger Sui Generis HMO.
The HMO had recently been extended via a permitted development loft conversion to provide a potential seventh bedroom. However the property could not be licensed for more than 6 people because the established lawful use was only as a Use Class C4 HMO. Pure Town Planning were able to pursuade the Council that the use of the additional room would cause no harm to the character of the locality or the amenities of the nearby residents.
If you have a HMO and are wondering about extending the building or increasing the number of residents, why not contact us and speak to one of our planning consultants.
