BCP Council (Poole area): Matt is pleased to announce that he has recently secured planning permission for the demolition of an existing building containing two flats and the erection of a 2.5 storey block of 6 flats with associated parking which was designed by local architects; Marlow Architects for a mutual client.

Pure Town Planning prepared a robust supporting Design, Access and Planning statement which accompanied the comprehensive submission package. During the course of the application we were in regular contact with the planning officer and attended a meeting on site with the planning officer and both adjacent neighbours to discuss the merits of the scheme and alleviate concerns.

In arriving at her favourable recommendation, the planning officer noted that the scheme would provide a net gain of 4 flats contributing towards the Council’s supply of housing and thus the ‘Tilted Balance’ was engaged. The officer deemed that the proposed traditional design was suitable for the character of the area and in keeping with the building frontage position and pattern of development. Furthermore having assessed the impact to neighbouring amenity, the officer considered that on balance It would have an acceptable impact on the living conditions of neighbouring properties and would provide suitable living conditions for prospective residents. Sufficient off-road parking provision and secure cycle storage was also provided in line with the SPD
