Bournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are delighted to announce that we have secured planning permission for a plot severance within the Portchester Road Conservation Area for the erection of a new 4 bed dwelling accessed off Portchester Road, Bournemouth.
A previous application to split the plot was refused by Bournemouth Borough Council in May 2015 and subsequently dismissed at appeal by the Planning Inspectorate in May 2016 due to impact upon trees, design of the building and the resulting development being out of character in this sensitive conservation area.

Following these decisions Pure Town Planning, in conjunction with the architects Anders Roberts Cheer, went back to the drawing board and effectively started over in order to fully address the objections of both the Council and the Planning Inspector, to deliver an attractive detached family dwelling whilst preserving the character and appearance of the Portchester Road Conservation Area.

After a lengthy consultation process with the respective Council officers to ensure the meticulously designed dwelling suitably reflected the character and architectural nuances of the surrounding Edwardian properties in Portchester Road, an agreeable scheme was finally reached to the satisfaction of all parties on both sides.

As evident in this case, here at PTP we tirelessly exhaust every avenue to secure planning permission for our clients. If you have a site which may have back-land development potential, whether in a conservation area or otherwise which you would like us to assess, why not give us a call or email to info@puretownplanning.co.uk. You could very well be missing out on a prospective opportunity.
