BCP Council (Poole area): Jess Glover is delighted to announce that she has recently secured householder planning permission for alterations and extensions of the existing dwelling on Ballard Road, Poole. The plans were prepared by Rob Nabney of Nabney Plans.

The scheme sought to revitalise the existing end of terrace dwelling by enlarging the existing front and rear dormer windows, altering the existing windows, front door and adding a roof light to the existing single storey rear extension. The alterations and extensions primarily sought to uplift the appearance of the dwelling, maximise views across Poole Harbour from the southerly facing windows and increase the amount of habitable accommodation in the master bedroom.

During the application process we entered into negotiations with the Planning Officer, who initially had a concern about the size of the front dormer. However, working closely with the architect, we were able to offer amended plans which overcame the Officer’s concerns and the application was subsequently recommended for approval.

The client was very pleased with the decision and is now preparing for development on the site.
