East Dorset District Council: Pure Town Planning has recently secured advertisement consent for the installation of three advertisements at commercial premises in the Wimborne Minster Conservation Area. The consent permits the installation of a side panel, directional sign and fascia at the new offices of Ellis Jones Solicitors at 39A East Street, Wimborne.

Given the sensitive location, we put together a Planning and Heritage Statement setting out the merits of the proposal. The statement demonstrated that the proposed advertisements were of a traditional design and appropriate scale and location that would be in-keeping with the character of the area.  In addition, through an assessment of the surrounding area, we demonstrated that the signs would reflect the site’s commercial character and would sit harmoniously within the street scene.

Upon consideration of the application, East Dorset District Council agreed and granted express consent. The advertisements have now been installed and look great!

We are experts in all planning matters and can advise on all aspects of the advertisement regulations. For instance, did you know planning guidance advises that in deciding whether to approve your application, the planning authority may consider only two issues; these are as the interests of amenity and public safety…?
