Porchester Road five flat conversion planning consultants BournemouthBournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning have recently secured planning permission for alterations, extensions and conversion of an existing dwelling to form 5 flats in Portchester Road, Bournemouth. The approved scheme involves the redevelopment of this site within the Portchester Road Conservation Area. The approval will undoubtedly breathe new life into this site and surrounding streetscene, whilst providing additional housing stock in this much sought after location.

Despite the initial strong objections from both the Planning and Conservation Officers, whom had all but refused the application, following rigorous and comprehensive consultation between Pure Town Planning, Footprint Architects and the respective officers, the scheme was subtly revised in order to address all concerns with regard to parking provision, the proposal’s impact on neighbouring properties and also the wider Portchester Road Conservation Area.

Following a lengthy consultation process, the respective officers were finally swayed in favour of the proposal and recognised the clear merits of the scheme and how it would provide much needed residential units in an attractive scheme, reinvigorating the functionality of this large 7-bedroom villa in the Portchester Road Conservation Area. As such, the meticulously designed residential conversion and extension was subsequently approved by the LPA.

As evident in this case, here at Pure Town Planning we tirelessly exhaust every avenue to secure planning permission for our clients. If you are working on a residential development and are looking for a firm to steer your development through the planning process, then why not give us a call or send us an email to info@puretownplanning.co.uk.
