Bournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are delighted to announce that we have secured consent for the partial change of use of a retail premises and rear of site buildings on Christchurch Road into five residential flats.
PTP sought prior approval for the change of use of the first and second floor of the premises and rear buildings to residential use. A pair of one bed flats and an additional one bed maisonette was secured under Class M of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015. As the change of use from retail space to residential was below the 150 square metre threshold – the redevelopment was deemed fully policy compliant under the prior approval process.
In addition to this, the upper floor retail space is also to be converted into a pair of 2 bedroom flats by way of permitted development rights under Class G. This results in the retention of the retail space on ground floor and the change of use of the remaining built form into five residential units. The converted building is suitably located in the Boscombe area with ample shops and services as well high interval transport links throughout the Borough to cater for the future occupants.
