BCP Council (Bournemouth area): Neil McKeon has recently secured planning permission within the Meyrick Park and Talbot Woods Conservation Area for the erection of five houses in Bournemouth.

The consent includes the demolition of the existing property and the substantial redevelopment of the site to create five dwellings set over four floors. This application followed a previous scheme which was dismissed at appeal.

Given its sensitive location, the key issues focused on the impact upon the character and appearance of the conservation area, as well as the privacy and amenity of neighbouring properties. The increased footprint and scale are reflective of the character of the area, with a traditional architectural appearance (successfully designed by ARC Architecture). The proposal constitutes a sensitively designed and positive addition to the Meyrick Park and Talbot Woods Conservation Area – which the LPA subsequently accepted and granted planning permission.
