Bournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are pleased to announce planning permission for a 38-unit student accommodation development on Lorne Park Road, Bournemouth. The proposal sees the demolition of the existing office block and erection of a 4-5 storey building in the town centre.

The approval follows a series of previous applications and appeals dating back to 2016, which have sought to redevelop the site through demolition of the existing office building. In these instances, Bournemouth Borough Council the LPA were opposed to the scale and massing of the proposed building and the loss of the existing premises – considered a “non-designated heritage asset”.

However, through extensive consultation with the Council and the assistance of Anders Roberts Cheer architects, the outstanding concerns from both the LPA and the Planning Inspectorate have been addressed under a revised scheme for student accommodation. The proposal sees a striking redevelopment which will make a positive visual contribution to Lorne Park Road. This long-awaited planning permission will breathe new life into this site to the rear of Old Christchurch Road, serving the growing student population in the heart of the town centre.

As evident in this case, here at Pure Town Planning we tirelessly exhaust every avenue to secure planning permission for our clients.
