Bournemouth Borough Council: Neil McKeon of Pure Town Planning has secured full planning permission for three detached dwellings on Parkway Drive, Bournemouth.

The scheme, designed by Anders Roberts Cheer, sees the demolition of one existing dwelling and the erection of three contemporary-style family dwellings on this corner plot. Despite initial concerns from the Planning Officers about the proposed density, following extensive consultation with the respective Planning, Highways and Tree Officers, the proposed redevelopment secured their full support. However, due to neighbouring objections in respect of potential overdevelopment and impact upon privacy and amenity, the application was brought before the Planning Board.

Neil presented the application to Members of the Planning Board and detailed the in-depth negotiation process with Officers, which ultimately addressed all previous concerns, to the point whereby the proposed scheme was deemed acceptable on all grounds – including those points raised by neighbours. Following Members’ discussions, it was determined that the evolution of the design, in collaboration with Officers, resulted in an attractive and high quality development which provided much needed family homes in a desirable location, whilst also safeguarding against any harmful neighbouring impacts.  Subsequently, Members endorsed the Officer’s recommendation to grant and approved the scheme – much to the delight of the applicant.
