Bournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are pleased to announce planning permission for a 23-unit residential development on the corner of Cranborne Road and Tregonwell Road in Bournemouth town centre. The proposal sees the demolition of the existing building and erection of a 6 storey flatted block with underground parking in this central location just a stone’s throw from the Hilton and new BH2 leisure complex.

A previous application for an 8-storey development for 31 units was refused by the Council in August 2016 and subsequently dismissed at appeal by the Planning Inspectorate in February 2017 – due to impact upon trees, potential harmful views from Cranborne Road, as well as loss of light and outlook to the neighbouring northern boundary building.

Following these decisions, Pure Town Planning, in conjunction with the architects Anders Roberts Cheer, re-evaluated the overall design strategy in order to fully address the objections of both the Council and the Planning Inspector to deliver an attractive 6-storey residential building. Extensive consultations with the respective Officers played a critical role in addressing outstanding concerns of previous applications to the satisfaction of all parties on both sides – thereby delivering a high quality, striking 23-unit building in Bournemouth town centre which makes a positive visual contribution to Tregonwell Road and Cranborne Road.

As evident in this case, here at Pure Town Planning we tirelessly exhaust every avenue to secure planning permission for our clients. If you have a potential residential development and are looking for a firm who will steer your scheme through the planning process, why not give us a call or email info@puretownplanning.co.uk.
