Fareham Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are celebrating a successful approval for a 2-unit residential redevelopment in Locks Heath, Southampton. The application site consists of a single chalet bungalow fronting Warsash Road.  The proposal sees the demolition of the existing bungalow and erection of two 4-bedroom detached family dwellings with integral garages.

Of key importance was ensuring the quantum of development was commensurate with the context of the area, as well as retaining sufficient gaps between properties to ensure the established pattern of development remained unharmed. Both new dwellings utilise the existing access drive off Warsash, whilst safeguarding the protected boundary trees, which themselves provide additional screening from Warsash Road and allows both units to comfortably assimilate within the streetscene.

In conjunction with Urban Pulse Design and Ross Consulting, Pure Town Planning spearheaded the project. Following extensive consultation with the respective Planning and Arboricultural Officers, the proposed 2 unit scheme was deemed fully acceptable and planning permission was secured two weeks ahead of the target determination date – which was welcomed news to the applicant.
