Chartered Town Planner and Planning Consultant at Pure Town Planning
Richard is a Chartered Town Planner who graduated from the University of the West England (UWE) in June 2014, having completed a four-year course in Town and Country Planning comprising a BA (Hons) Degree and Masters securing a Merit for the four years. Being relatively new to the planning world, Richard brings freshness, enthusiasm and a drive to learn all he can about planning and the nuances and intricacies that come with it.
Upon graduating from UWE, Richard worked for a short time at Bristol City Council as an intern where he gained an understanding of how Planning Policy and Development Management interact with one another and the world outside the Public Sector. From this, Richard secured his first job in planning when he moved to Bournemouth to work for a Franchise Company who specialised in the development of Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMOs). Richard’s role here was to help secure planning permission to convert properties into HMOs of all sizes, explaining Permitted Development Rights for householder applications and the Prior Approval system. After a while there, Richard leapt at the chance to join Pure Town Planning seeing it as an opportunity too good to miss to help broaden his knowledge and experience of the planning system.
When Richard is not trying to secure another planning permission he enjoys watching a range of sports, trying to keep up to date with the many TV shows that he watches (eight and counting), reading yet another book on World War 2 and learning more useless facts.
