Lansdowne campusBournemouth Borough Council: Well it didn’t take long – less than 48 hours into 2013 and Pure Town Planning have secured our first planning consent of the new year. The permission was another for The Bournemouth and Poole College this time at its Lansdowne Campus in Bournemouth.

The approval was for the retention of a large 1500 sqm modular classroom building which was put up on the College campus four years ago as temporary accommodation for a major redevelopment project. That project sadly never got off the ground (the funding was pulled) but the modular building filled up and now provides valuable teaching space at this constrained site. It is a sensitive location lying close to one of the three Grade II listed buildings on the site.

Owing to the size of the floor space this was technically a major planning application and therefore Bournemouth Borough Council had 13 weeks to determine it. We managed to get it approved in under seven (it would probably have been a week quicker but for Christmas) keeping up our record of speedy decisions for the College (see here and here).

This year the College celebrates its centenary having been established at the Lansdowne site in 1913 – we’re glad to help get the year off to a good start.
