Purbeck District Council: Just because we are called Pure Town Planning, it doesn’t mean that we can only get planning approvals in towns and cities – not at all. In fact Pure Town Planning’s latest planning approval was for the conversion of a stable block located outside of the settlement boundary of Lytchett Matravers in open countryside –  in the South East Dorset Green Belt to be exact where development is strictly controlled.

We were able to convince Purbeck District Council (not an easy feat) that the building was capable of conversion and that the re-use of the building  for holiday accommodation would be appropriate in this countryside location. We also had to demonstrate that the openness of the Green Belt would be preserved and there would be no adverse impacts on the countryside.

The applicant, Mrs Uden was delighted stating “When Matt first informed me of the possibility of turning my unused stables into a holiday house, I couldn’t quite believe him. I’m so glad we listened to his advice, he and his firm were very professional, they handled the whole process and kept me constantly updated on how the application was going. We are over the moon with our planning permission.”

If you live in the countryside and have any stables or outbuildings which you would like to know whether they have any development potential, then why not give us a call and we can offer you a free of charge development appraisal.
