South Downs National Park (Winchester City Council): Pure Town Planning were instructed to advise on a sensitive enforcement issue involving the demolition of an old barn within the curtilage of a listed building. The owners hadn’t realised that as a curtilage building which was existing on the site before lst July 1948 it was deemed to form part of the listed building. Hence its demolition needed listed building consent. The owners had demolished the barn and were halfway through reconstructing a replacement when the issue came to light. We also assisted the owners with an application to regularise the development by producing a Heritage Assessment and a Visual Impact Assessment.
