Basingstoke countryhouse approvalBasingstoke and Deane Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are ringing the ‘Approval Bell’ once more (yes we do have one!) celebrating the news that planning permission has been granted to transform a single storey detached bungalow into a large two storey house with integral double garage in the Hampshire countryside somewhere between Alresford and Basingstoke. The extensive renovation will take a bland red brick 1950′s bungalow and transform it into a large contemporary two-storey dwelling with floor to ceiling windows providing uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside. This modern mansion is finished in a mix of crisp white rendered and more traditional stone cladding under a modern pitched shaped slate roof.

This ‘one off’ house was a bespoke piece of architecture designed by Tony Holt Design. The design successfully balanced the owner’s requirements for additional floorspace against the context and countryside setting of the site. As a result of the well thought out design, Pure Town Planning were able to successfully demonstrate to Basingstoke and Deane Council that the proposal would not represent over development of the site nor create an adverse impact on the open character of the surrounding countryside.
