East Dorset District Council: Pure Town Planning are pleased to report the successful outcome of a long running case in Wimborne, Dorset with full approval granted for four new three bedroom dwellings in a great location close to the town centre.

Our client originally approached Pure Town Planning following a refusal of consent by East Dorset District Council last year. They’d had a difficult time on this site with pre-application discussions with two different planning officers before the application was given to a third. The application was then refused on multiple grounds. Pure Town Planning conducted the appeal which whilst being dismissed was actually a considerable success as it resolved all the issues which the Council had except two minor concerns which were relatively easily addressed.

Pure Town Planning advised on overcoming these issues before submitting the new application. With carefully considered revisions by the designers of the scheme Aspire Architects together with a well presented case, the planning officers had to concede that they could no longer find a reason to refuse the scheme. Naturally the local residents did not necessarily agree and enough wrote in to object to bring the application before the Planning Committee. At committee the considerable power of even a dismissed appeal decision showed itself as the Councillors too, despite quite clearly not agreeing with the Inspector’s conclusions, felt they had no choice but to vote in favour of granting consent.

If you’ve recently had a planning application refused, why not speak to Pure Town Planning about the potential for an appeal which like here might be just what is needed to clear the way for a consent.
