Borough of Poole: Pure Town Planning are delighted to announce that we have recently secured householder planning permission for alterations, extensions and remodel of the existing bungalow on Sherwood Avenue, Poole.

The existing bungalow was considered dated and architecturally dull, therefore the applicants were looking to update their property whilst maximising their living space by extending into the roof and to the rear to create a modern family dwelling. The modified dwelling proposed a front and rear gable with side dormer to provide first floor accommodation, a rear extension two storey extension and a weatherboard cladding and render finish.

As part of the application we prepared a thorough supporting design, access, and planning statement which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, whilst making it clear that the proposal safeguarded the character of the street whilst safeguarding the amenities of neighbouring properties and was therefore in accordance with adopted local and national planning policies. Initially, the Borough of Poole planning officer was hesitant about creating an upper floor on a semi-detached bungalow, however following some design tweaks and discussion with the case officer, the proposal was considered acceptable and recommended for approval.

Following the approval we received the below comment from our delighted client:
“PTP were fantastic throughout the whole process. We had a unique request which proved tricky at times, but the team did brilliantly by constantly keeping us in the loop and advising on ways forward. It really felt like they cared and were emotionally involved in getting us our approval”
