East Dorset District Council: Another of Pure Town Planning’s recent approvals in 2015 is this planning permission for a change of use from an ancillary residential annexe to a holiday let in Alderholt, Fordingbridge.
The applicant approached Pure Town Planning after their annexe, which was previously occupied by the applicant’s elderly parents, became vacant and they were keen to explore alternative uses. After visiting the site and assessing the development potential of the annexe, we advised the client that the building could be suitable for holiday accommodation and we were instructed to prepare, submit and manage a change of use planning application. As part of the submission we prepared a supporting design, access and planning statement which made a clear argument in favour of the proposal concluding that the use was in line with local and national planning policy objectives to encourage rural tourism provisions.
The East Dorset District Council planning officer agreed with our supporting statement and the and planning permission was subsequently granted under delegated powers. Our client was delighted with the decision and she is currently busy preparing the property for its first visitors of the summer.
