Bournemouth Borough Council: Pure Town Planning are thrilled to announce that we have recently secured planning permission for the erection of a house in a backland position to the rear of Shelbourne Road, Bournemouth. The detached dwelling forms an extension to the recently approved 3-unit scheme to the rear of Shelbourne Road that Pure Town Planninng successfully handled last year.

Prior to the respective grants of planning permission, the entire site was the subject of several applications. In 2014 permission was sought to erect 4 units, but the application was withdrawn as Bournemouth Borough Council were concerned about overdevelopment.

As part of the application, we prepared a thorough supporting Design and Access Statement which set out the merits of the proposal in a clear and concise manner, whilst making it clear that the development overcame the Council’s previous concerns about overdevelopment.

Upon considering the application and supporting documents, the Council agreed with our conclusions and moved to grant planning permission for the development. The client was delighted with the decision and is now preparing for the development of the site, which will deliver an excellent family home in close proximity to the town centre.
